வினை விதை - This movie was shot as a part of filmmaking course i did in Filmcamp, bangalore. The course is really worth to give a taste of actual filmmaking. This film was made from a short story 'Karumbu juice', i wrote for college magazine. The shoot was really challenging and i think in the end it all came out well, thanks to the Cast and Crew.Watch it and leave your valuable comments.

Thala, well-done again! You(r) touch as usual! btw, i havent read 'Karumbu juice'. Cud u send a copy?
Maaps... Idhukku dhaan koottam koodi manda kaaya vittaainga nu sonnaanaa Srini :D :D
My view - bound to be quite lengthy as usual. :)
It's centered around an excellent theme. I like the variety you show in your films. I'd like to read the original short story as well.
Kadhaya poruttha mattla the only loop hole I could find is the watchman replacement part. You could've avoided the manager's (?!) conversation with the new watchman. It sounded like "Orutthanukku vaela pocchu... Innorutthanukku vaela vandhadhu... Oru paiyyan school discontinue pannittan. Adhunaala innoru paiyyanaala schoolukku poga mudinjadhu" which is not what you intend to say. Innum konjam vayasaana character a paottu, idhae conversation a "Perappullaikki kaadhu kutthiyaacchaa or something of that sort" kaettrundhaa innum nalla punch irundhurukkum.
Acting department la dialog delivery la anganga chinna slippages terinjadhu... Like waiting for the other person to complete his dialog or konjam natural a irukka try panni, emphasis miss pannradhu, etc.
Idhu konjam over expectation... Aanaa andha chinna paiyyan last scene la paesura English nicchayamaa padikkaadha paiyyan paesura English maadhiri illa... :D But overall cast in this movie is much better than your other movies (ofcourse save the occasions where you used professionals).
The watchman got upset too soon in my opinion. The manager didn't even shout... Innum konjam pressing a kaattirukkalaam andha situation a. I mean, some offending words like "Eppao paatthaalum tea kudikka vaendiyadhu. Dham adikka vaendiyadhu. Yaaru ekkaedu kettu paonaalum ungalukkenna! Vaela paakkaamalae kaasu vaanga koosalayaa?" or something like that. Andha position la namma irundhaa self esteem protect pannikka takkunu retaliate panna koodiya vishayamaa irundhaa innum aazhamaa irundhurukkum. In the same way, in the last scene instead of answering too politely, had the manager said something like "Adhellaam vaenaam po po... Car a azhukku pannaadha", it would've been a striking projection.
Lighting was a major negative factor in the first shot where they talk in that restaurant. It was strikingly obvious and gives an impression of two diff locations altogether.
Editing was very good. No extra scenes... No extra dialogs... You showed just what you wanted to project.
I loved the minor things that you used to convey the hypocrisy of the manager - playing cards when discussing the theme, paying 400 bucks for a coffee and orange juice, the new watchman saluting the guy because he got him the job, etc. Good work there. :)
Overall, another good one from your barracks. Hoping to see some more! :)
Dude Good movie.. But its terribly slow. I had to wait for nearly 25 minutes for the whole thing to get downloaded..Create a channel on YouTube and post it there
Dey.. Srini is really the best opt for that character... great work and theme. Keep up..
Karthik,
The movie packs a punch in five minutes.
The only problem was, the first watchman got fired because of his irresponsible behavior (wandering out during duty time) and attitude (snapping back for no reason, and for his mistake). Of course, it hit the ego of the manager, but that is secondary. So who would you blame for his son not studying? The manager or the watchman himself?
Anyway, great work - it does drive home the point you wanted to convey.
Nice work Karthik. You are closer to your dreams.. keep it up!!
